Striking the Right Chord

We love field trips with our homeschooling group! Today, we visited Cunningham Piano Company and toured both the showroom and workshop. We oohed and ahhhed over a $101K Borndorfer Piano, tickled the ivories of Steinways and Schimmels, and observed the restoration of a 1877 Centennial model Steinway.
Hmmm....playing "Chopsticks" and "Heart and Soul" on a marble Steinway seems a bit sacrilegious!

 A magnificent Borndorfer piano

Magnificent does not come cheap!

Fun with The Bronze Bow

We've been reading The Bronze Bow, by Elizabeth George Speare as a read-aloud this month and have had a great time with activities and trips relating to the book.

Although the bows were not bronze, our favorite activity was a trip to a local fish and game center where we learned how to shoot arrows using both recurve and compound bows. Watch out, Catniss!
